Improving the delivery of deployed care by enhancing military-commercial partnerships: The role of the NSPA

The availability of equipment and material has a huge impact on the effectiveness of the delivery of deployed medical care, and it is all coming down to a robust procurement process. As the commercial sector is gradually viewed as the key to providing tailored solutions, a few questions remain: is there enough communication and cooperation between them and the military?

Ahead of Medical Support Operations 2018, Defence IQ had the opportunity to discuss with Dr. Robert Balazs, Technical Medical Officer at the General and Cooperative Services Programme at the NATO Support and Procurement Agency and speaker at the conference, on his views on the cooperation between the commercial sector and the military in the latter's procurement process. In this exclusive interview, he tells us how he thinks that relationship can be improved to enhance the delivery of deployed medical care.
